When we arrived at our destination we were in a residential area with a brick wall in front of us. We had to dig out the map and could see that the campsite was the other side of the brick wall. We made our way down some back alleys and eventually found the entrance to the campsite. Apparently there used to be a way into the site the way we had come but the residents had complained about people using their street so it was moved.
When we arrived it was still raining but the the beauty of the campervan, (over caravans), is that there is no need to go out in the rain, you just walk to the back of the van and put the kettle on . We decided that if the rain wasnt going to stop we would get the TV out and watch the Grand Prix. Surprisingly, it was raining just the same in Canada and the race was stopped but the commentary continued so we kept the TV on . We ended up watching 5 hours of the Grand Prix, which was on and off and when the race eventually got going again it was very exciting and well worth the wait. Buttons best ever victory.
What a day though, the rain did not stop but hey ho, it was cosy in the van.
The next day the rain had stopped so we went for a walk to find the Millenium Stadium. We were delighted to find that it was just a short stroll along the riverbank.
This was our first visit to Cardiff so we decided to explore by hopping on a hop on, hop off bus.
Our first stop was the Millenium Centre.
We hopped off at Mermaid Quay and stopped for lunch at Cafe Rouge where we had a meal courtesy of Tesco vouchers.
